Most of the conference will be held at the historic Academy of Medicine (875 W Peachtree St NW, Atlanta, GA 30309) just beyond the Eastern edge of the Georgia Tech campus.  This is the location of all lectures on Friday and Saturday (May 20-21), the banquet Friday evening, and breakfast and registration on Friday morning.

On Thursday evening (May 19), we are open for registration and will have an informal reception from 5-6pm in the Molecular Sciences and Engineering (MoSE) building on the Georgia Tech campus (901 Atlantic Drive NW, Atlanta, GA 30318).  The reception will be followed by Poster Session 1 from 6-7:30pm in the same location.

On Friday afternoon (May 20), 4:30-6pm, we will have Poster Session 2 in the atrium of the Marcus Nanotechnology building on the Georgia Tech campus (345 Ferst Dr NW, Atlanta, GA 30318).

Atlanta is home to the world’s busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, which in turn serves as the home of Delta Airlines. While located approximately 12 miles away from the conference venue, there are many convenient means of ground transportation.

Public Transit

Atlanta’s public railways system, MARTA, has its southernmost station located at the airport. All trains leaving the airport will head towards downtown and midtown Atlanta. The stop closest to the conference center is Midtown Station, located 11 stops from the airport. A one-way ticket is $2.50 and can be purchased at the kiosk at the entrance of the station.

Rideshare

Both Uber and Lyft provide extensive coverage of Atlanta, and offer quick and affordable transportation from the airport to midtown and downtown. Follow the signs to the rideshare pickup location, or ask someone working at the airport if you have difficulty finding the location.

By Car

Three highway systems run through Atlanta: I-20, I-75, and I-85. People renting a car and driving from the airport will be taking the I-75/85 northbound. Be aware that traffic is heavy throughout the day, and especially around the midtown/downtown area lanes can suddenly end without warning. Using a navigation app like Waze to assist you is highly recommended.
